Hi Guys. First time posting here. Bought the Warrior Diet book some months ago, tried it for a few weeks, and gave up. I was just too confused. I get Ori's points, and a lot (not all) of his rational seems to make a lot of sense. However, I'm confused on a few very important issues, and thought some of you could give me some feedback....
-Regarding Timing. I understand the overeating/undereating cycle. But on the warriordiet.com site it talks about doing the overeating for 4 hours a day, and undereating for 20. In the book it says the fast (undereating) shouldn't be for more than 16-18 hours??? Based on that, the "overeating" time should go for 8-6 hours (which I don't think is right). For those of you who do the WD, can you give me your time schedules?
-The overeating. Okay, I like to eat crap sometimes. One of the first things that attracted me to the WD was that you can eat crap sometimes (interveiw at testosterone.net). Now, in the interview, Ori basically said that after you have your fill of protein, it's okay to have the not-so great food, if that's what you crave. In the book, he says have leafy veggies first (bland food), then protein and fat, and finish off with carbs. This is fine if you're eating "normal" healthy meals, but what about if I want pizza? In the book he mentions pizza being okay sometimes, but it surely doesn't fit that schedule. How often do you guys eat "crap"?
Just in case you're wondering. I'm at 270, and at 30% bodyfat (yeah yeah, fat bastard), so right now I'm just looking to keep my strength (for powerlifting) while loosing bodyfat. Would like to get down to about 15%, or about 220. My current exercise routine is martial arts 2x week (submission grappling or kickboxing), weightlifting 2x week, and misc cardio (rower, bike) 2x week.
I liked the WD because I found that I got used to not eating during the day pretty easily and pretty quickly, provided I had some flexability in the evening. So if it works (for losing weight and maintaining strength/muscle) I'd really like to give it an earnest try, with as much supplemental data I can find.
Thanks all in advance for your help.
-Bob
