At your age, the need for DHEA is questionable. The question can be answered by getting a blood test for DHEA-S. If it's low, you can start taking 25mg per day or as directed by your physician.
Generally, most references indicate that it's safe and some say that everyone over 40 should be taking it. I do, and I'm 44. I feel like, after I've been taking it for a month or more, my body is more responsive to exerise (which you still need to do), but also more forgiving of overeating, like when I was in my early 30's. I take 25mg of DHEA and 50mg of 7-keto, and I'm convinced it makes getting older easier, but it's not a magic bullet.
BTW, my blood test showed that my DHEA-S was normal for my age, which would be low for someone who is 30. My goal is to keep my levels at the 30 year old level. I feel like it, but I haven't had a follow-up test yet.
