MessageOne of my oldest and best friends is a lifelong vegetarian, a terrific athlete, and remarkably strong. When working out consistently he can build mass and strength quite quickly. He does use a whey protein supplement (I think he's what you'd call a lacto-ovo vegetarian, i.e. he will eat eggs and drink milk), and he reports his best gains when also using creatine and glutamine.
