#1) Why do you feel your dog needs to go on the warrior diet?
#2) Is two cups the right amount of calories for your dog to begin with? How big is s/he. Is two cups what is listed on the bag, and how much exercise does s/he get?
Some dogs have problems with only being fed once a day and can develop digestive issue (ie vomiting up bile in the middle of the day or night depending when they eat). My dog has this problem and needs to be fed multiple times a day.
Just like in humans, every dog is different. Go based on how your dog is, how much activity ect. If you try it and you notice your dog starts to vomit or seems lethargic (lays around not moving much), then it probably isn't going to work.
Btw here is how you judge the weight of a dog:
Seeing the ribs is too skinny (this can vary but breed since some breeds are just built thinner). If this is the case, you need to feed your dog more.
Being able to feel the ribs is a normal weight. This means your dog is getting enough food and exercise to maintain its appropriate weight.
Not being able to feel the ribs means over weight (this is how about 90% of dogs are). This means you either have to exercise your dog more or feed them less.
OH another thing if you change your dog to only eating once a day, then be prepared that s/he may start getting into things. They tend to become destructive (ie tear things up, get into garbage, ect) when they are hungry or their stomachs are upset. If you see any behavior like that, it is another sign that it may not be right for your dog.
Personally, I feel it is mean to only feed your dog once a day. I know when I don't eat I start feeling sick, I get shaky, I can't think straight I have no energy, ect. The vet I worked with recommends twice a day feedings. However, as I said above every dog is different.
