MessageThis occurred to me when going over photosynthesis & respiration in class today (I currently teach middle school science).
Photosynthesis:
6(CO2) + 6(H2O) + light energy ---> C6H12O6 + 6(O2)
Respiration (the process of breaking down glucose, C6H1206, into simpler substances to release energy):
C6H12O6 + 6(O2) ---> 6(CO2) + 6(H2O) + ENERGY
Based on the fact that the products of photosynthesis are the exact source materials needed for respiration, it seems quite logical that the perfect energy source for humans would be plants, not animals (high carb, not low carb).
Thoughts?
