MessageI've read the same thing, and there are now supplements with "pharmaceutical grade dextrose" -- refined sugar, I take it. I take the recommendation to mean that high-glycemic-index foods are recommendable. I even eat candy sometimes, though I know things like Jujyfruits have a lot of garbage in them along with the sugar, so it isn't something I'd recommend. (I just figure that because I like candy, and I'll eat some of it sometime, best to get it in when at least some of the ingredients are indicated.)
I wouldn't eat chocolate after working out, though as it has some fat. I'm not afraid of fat at other times, mind you; it's just that fat is "slow," and after you're done training you want "fast."
