The shrug - why is it that we never see any one writing about them on this forum?
They are evidently a good technique to practice as Randy Hauer's excellent recent translation work of Medvedev shows. He dedicates the following as being highly beneficial to the Olympic athlete:
13) Double KB Shrug, arms to side, 8-10 reps, slow tempo, relax/stretch at bottom position
14) Shrug, One Arm, 8-10 reps then switch sides, slow tempo, relax/stretch at bottom position
15) Shrug, 2 Hands x One KB, bell in front, 9-11 reps, slow tempo
16) Double KB Circular Shrugs, arms to sides, 5-7 reps forward, the 5-7 reverse, slow tempo
Pavel Tsatsouline himelf in the classic RKC book calls them an "awesome drill" as recommended by Paul Check (RKC, P75).
Why do so few of us utilise this type of drill despite its evident support?
Looking forward to discussion,
Richard
