I'd hold off on the bear about an extra week.
On the metabolic solution your going to have to go through a 12 day "loading" period. This is where your body changes over from burning carbs as its main staple to burning fat.

This is a 12 day period where you go below 30 grams of carbs every day. You don't get to carb-up on that first weekend. DiPasquale recommends not eating excess or to little calories during this period in order to make the transition as smoothe as possible. You will probably shed fat and gain a little muscle in this phase, but nothing drastic.

The recommended calories is 18 x bw (40x bw if in kg's). Letting you know incase you wanted to start this phase right now and get it over with. I think you'd get better results on the Bear if you started it after this initial phase, so you can take advantage of those carb-ups to put on some serious weight.
