MessageThere is no reasoning. Actually, in nutrition you can find reasoning for anything. Eat what you like in any order. Eating salad first indavertently makes you eat less calories. That's the only advantage of its timing. Otherwise - eat whatever you like according to your caloric needs and enjoy.
I personally think there are better alternatives to WD. Instead of completing under-overeating cycle in one day, it is better to spread it over a week. I mean, undereat one day, overeat another. Or under- 2 days and over 1. Or whateve. Same applies to carb, fat and protein consumption.
