MessageI find that I perform better on an empty stomach - not eating anything 1-2hrs before training. However, I sometimes play basketball and eating beforehand helps me out sometimes but before strength training I make sure I have nothing.
There was an interesting article on the T-Nation website that talked about pre-workout meals. It said that having whey before training can actually be beneficial. I don't have a link to it right now but I'll try to find it and post the link.
