Not all proteins are created equal.
Some proteins are "fast proteins" and som are "slow proteins" - meaning how fast your body can use them.
The fastest protein would be pure amino acids (not sure how you would get these).
I'm not sure what foods are better than others, but I'm sure you can find it with a simple google search.
For instance, you should stay away from soy protein all together. Not good stuff, and may even have negative affects on your body/training.
