WarriorDiet Timing Question

Hello everyone,

I've been on the Warrior Diet for a couple of weeks and I wanted to ask a question about it before I make any mistakes or create any bad habits.

My main motivation for dieting in the first place is health reasons. I just want to feel good all day long and not have heartburn or fatigue or moodswings etc from those multiple meal diets. I could stand to lose 20-30 lbs but honestly I don't really care. The health benefits listed in the front of the book are all I'm after.

I read about the health benefits of eating one meal a day on a Buddhist website and did a websearch and found the WarDiet and wanted to give it a try. I've got the Wardiet book but only read the part about diet and haven't got to the exercise part. My concerns are only with diet though, I'm already happy with my workouts. I do KB's and Naked Warrior and am happy with them.

I get up at 7 am and go to bed at 12 midnight. I work second shift and usually get home about 9pm. I workout with KB's for about half an hour, eat, relax, then go to bed.

I don't eat anything during the day but I drink plenty of water. I cannot afford protein shakes or bars. My budget for food is about $200 a month so I'm eating alot of eggs and tuna fish. My main meal is mostly soup, big salad, an orange, tuna fish on multi-grain bread, couple eggs, baked potato and maybe some cottage cheese, walnuts and almonds. Other than a multivitamin, I'm not taking supplements.

In the book Ori says that you only want to have an empty stomach for 18 hours AT THE MOST. My schedule has me on an empty stomach for 20 hours. Is this a big deal? I mean, the diet says "One Meal A Day" and that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm not taking in anything but water during the day because I find it's easier to control hunger if I don't even think about food. If it's off my mind, I have no problem but if I have one bite of anything I'll want to eat alot of something. That's why the 6 meals a day diet never worked for me - small meals don't satisfy and usually make me want even more. When I eat fruit on an empty stomach it makes me hungrier than before so I had to drop it. I do get a little hungry around 3pm but it goes away within an hour.

I guess my question is, is one big meal enough? I've read some of the WarriorDiet posts on this site and I see that almost everyone is eating 2-3 small meals or supplements during the day and then a big meal after the workout. In my book that's still 4 meals a day and it's not convenient for my schedule since I work second shift.

I've read all the past newsletters on the Wardiet site and I didn't see anything on just eating one meal a day only. Since I'm not going for mass and just want to look "normal" and feel healthy, I hope it's ok.

Any input or opinions are greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for your time!
