MessageI think the response your body gives to the WD depends on your body composition, and what you are trying to do to your body with training. I have gained weight off of the WD and maintained my weight w/ the WD, I am currenlty 165 lbs (11 months ago I was 150). I have been on the diet since July, and took about a month total off while doing Pavel's Hit the Deck program twice (once in November, once in January). And I follow Pavel's advise of NOT doing strength training while fatigued.
I have a friend who was 230, and went down to about 215 on the diet. He didn't follow it to the T; he ate crappy foods when he overate sometimes, and often ate desert (cake, icecream, pie). He did do the undereating faithfully and did "fatigued training" similar to Ori's methods in the book (he would do 30-45 minutes of cardio and then strength train, before he ate his big meal). His weight dropped over a couple of months.
Pick up the book if you haven't, it changed the way I look at what exactly I put into my body. I'm eating more fruits and veggies and less grains than ever before in my life.
Hope that helps
