I think it is recommended in the book, to incorporate a recovery meal (still light) and protein and low glycemic based. You can snack a little more throughout the day on low glycemic veg / fruit or make sure your evening meal is big enough to allow you to the last days.
I tend to listen to my body when i am in the undereating stage as i now know the difference between real hunger and my normal warrior hunger now. So if i have to i sometimes a little in the day although i prefer just to eat more in the evening. You will have to tailor it to the way your body and performance are effected.
The beauty of the diet is learning to work with your bodies feedback and tailoring things based on that.
