Good posts! I have found 2 versions that have worked with high endurance athletes. One is too eat approx (you have to puch in your own numbers) 100 carbs and 40 protein post long endurance work in one or two meals (spaced 45 min apart if two). The other version is just like SteveFreides posted. My only caveat is you need to know which version of WD works best for you. Do the high fat, or high protein etc days work best for you? Then adjust. Obviously you need more carbs if you function better on carbs, more fat if you...and so on.
At that level of competition no one can tell you what to do its your log and your results that will reveal what works. be meticulous with what you have done more so than what you plan to do-that is the the magic. In all reality the most important part of a sports trainer is to be a bean counter and build from there. A real trainer will ask "What have you done/been doing?" as one of their primary questions. look for trends and follow them up and go from there.
Lastly make sure you are supplimenting with potassium salts-from a grocery store not a fitnnes shop. A salt replacement that is potassium instead of sodium will go a long way for performance. 2x a day usually works NEVER on an empty stomach...lets us know your progress here and at my email ColoradoZHealth@Gmail.com zzzzzzzzzzz
