Norvasc works well for me. There are a lot of good medications out there for hypertension. Sometimes you have to try different ones, or even combinations of them. The first two meds I tried did not work.
No one is better off with high blood pressure.
My father quit taking his meds when he was in his 70s. (He claimed they affected his sexual ability.) He suffered a massive stroke not long after, and died three years later. (If I had to choose between diminished sexual performance or a massive stroke, I'd choose the former.)
If a medication you are taking makes you feel wierd, you need to try a new one. For me, Norvasc is doing the trick. As I noted above, it makes me sleepy and lethargic sometimes, but has not slowed me down, and never makes me feel bad.
Again, I can't stress it enough: Higher Blood Pressure is a recipe for big-time health problems! Take care of it!
