Story time.
A year ago this month I was in the worst shape of my life. I hadn't exercised with any seriousness in close to 10 years(I was heavily involved in MA; Bando and Kick Boxing as a teen) and my diet was atrocious.
Working long hours on the road led me to fast food 3x a day, on top of a sedentary lifestyle. I ballooned up to 283lbs or so at 5'11", with very little visible muscle and little upper body strength.
Long story short, I decided that something had to give, got on a high iron diet(bar bells, kettlebells, dumb bells) and made the most important nutrition decision of my life...I bought a lunch box. I fill it every morning, and barring a few lunches out a month with co workers, from 0700 to 1700 I only eat that which resides in the sacred lunch box.
In the past 11 3/4 months I've dropped almost 50lbs of blubber, I'm currently hovering around my all time low adult body weight of 235lbs, and I'm starting to look thick, rather than doughy.
I feel like celebrating my beloved lunch box today, and sharing it's delicious and nutritious contents with the good folks of the DD Diet forum. If any one else follows a similar eating strategy I'd be interested in hearing what you bring along for a day of workplace warfare.
Today I'm lugging along...
the remnants of this morning's protein shake(whole goat milk, blueberry kifer, frozen blue berries, roasted flax seeds, two scoops of ON choc whey)
2 apples
a salad with baby spinach, onions, radishes, carrots, red cabbage, goats milk feta cheese
salad dressing(evoo, balsamic vinegar, brags liquid aminos, maple and pecan mustard, salt, pepper, red chili flakes, garlic powder, 1 scoop biotest 'super food')
1/2 can of albacore tuna(the other half consumed before leaving the house)
home made trail mix(TJ's mixed 50% less salt nuts, TJ's thai cashews, raw walnuts, roasted sunflower seeds, roasted pepitas, roasted flax seeds, assorted dried fruit)
2 TJ's coconut date rolls
I'll feed when hungry, a little bit here, a little bit there, enjoying feeling 50lbs lighter than I did last summer.
Today is going to be a good day.
