If you stick raw veggies for the most part and maybe 1-2 pieces of fruit (Ori says citrus will help with detox) I don't think you can go wrong. You'd have to eat an awful lot of veggies to lay down fat, just get familiar with what is and what isn't a veg. Many foods that we are commonly taught are veggies are not.
At night eat until satisfied, not full, and you should be off to a good start.
As for me, I have coffee, lately cold..like from the fridge cold (sorry Steve). Mid morn a citrus fruit either grapefruit or an orange. I choose these because the white "tissue" (don't know what else to call it) between the rind and the fruit contains a chemical that inhibits the body's ability to breakdown caffeine.
Later maybe some bell pepper slices, berries or small handful of raw nuts, cashews have been the choice lately or even pumpkin seeds.
At night, its whatever. Usually some type of salad with baby greens, berries and some walnuts..no dressing...the berries are sweet enough to act as a dressing. Some meat or eggs, and my dessert is always some cheese. I'm from WI so cheese is a staple.
