I try to eat some protein with each major feeding, and I usually sip a whey protein shake with about 40-50g of protein over the course of the morning. The only time I make sure to get a measured amount of protein is post workout, when I immediately down a 'recovery' drink with a 2 to 1 carb/protein ratio.
As far as post work, the general consensus seems to be that the two most important times are within the first 45 minutes and then the following two hours, although some studies show increased anabolic activity, or at least less catabolic activity with increased protein intake over as much as 24 hours post workout...
Make sure that your diet focuses around a combination of healthy protein sources like eggs, milk, nuts, seeds and high quality meats as well as quality fats and carbs and you should be set. I wouldn't worry too much about shooting for some specific body weight protein ratio unless you are trying to achieve some very specific goal.
