Comrade W2, my motto for losing weight: eat what you need, not what you want. If you can really internalize that one, you'll get to your desired size.
FWIW, PNB is a weight-gainer food for even skinny, old me, so I avoid it except once in a while. It's not that way for everyone, but now we know it is for at least two people.
As to rep scheme without gaining size, I've been doing that for years - a few short, heavy sets on long rests. I keep the reps to doubles and triples for the most part, four at most, and about the same number of sets per exercise. I'm talking not less than 5 minutes between sets, half hour or more works, too. My training log for March, 2008 is pretty typical of my training - started ETK after that.
