Completely in agreement TheSpartan. Heh good name choice for that post because that really would be a sparten routine. If you are looking for brute force and maximal functional strength, it can be built as said above. If in addition to this you pursue at least a little cross training (ie. basketball, boxing) and watch your diet, you would also be ripped to shreds and built like a brick (assuming you are at the numbers we were talking about and weighed around or under 200 lbs). I still believe in the old maxim "forum follows function". In this case it's a little out of context, but in general, people who LOOK strong ARE strong. Of course there are exceptions but you may be very very surprised at what some of the "muscle beach" boys we like to laugh at on Dragondoor. Training for his last Mr Olympia Arnold S. was benching 8 reps of 400 lbs for 5 sets. I own a picture of Dr. Franco Columbu Dead lifting 1,000 pounds. The bar is bending on both ends :).
Of course for every Arnold and Franco there are 10 bodybuilders who look as big but probably couldn't do half of that.
