Iam not a RKC.But I am a professional teacher. In teaching all established methodologies and approaches work and dont work.It is a matter of what context they are applied in.
I think the Clean & Jerk is a very beneficial drill personally.I use it all the time. Infact I read somewhere on the net that it was the 'king' of compound movements.
In the context of hardstyle and RKC being a school of principles, the method of executing a Clean & Jerk is very well established both in the Olympic style and in Girevoy sport.
So in the interest of effectively learning the basic techniques I think it would be excellent if you (RKCs)teach and test them(students&other RKCs) on some RKC course on the basic methods of the C&J with a kettlebell(s)-Dead Clean,Rack,Jerk,Rack Drop and repeat. It will be rewarding because this way the weight is light, the drill will teach them the basic groove, bracing, and develop power and endurance.Just my two cents.
